To mark the start of a new, exciting year, the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) agreed to extend their scientific and technical cooperation for another five years. A Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony will be held to officially recognize CIFOR and IPB’s ongoing collaboration, which started in 2003. The collaboration will equip CIFOR and IPB with new knowledge as well as mutually benefit both parties and improve their research collaboration.
In recognition of the event, CIFOR Director General Peter Holmgren will give a lecture with the theme “Forests and Landscapes: Solutions for Sustainable Development”. Holmgren will offer insights on the positive contributions forests make across the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — from poverty eradication to water and food security — as well as the opportunities that the SDGs can provide for recognizing the value of forested landscapes and forestry.
The Signing Ceremony will be held on 9:00 – 11:00 am, 17 Feb 2017, Auditorium Andi Hakim Nasution, Bogor, Indonesia at the IPB Darmaga campus in Bogor.
